Campfires have been around since the dawn of humanity, but one thing that’s annoying about bonfire is the ‘smoke.’ The smoke may get into your eyes or choke your lungs, hence, it doesn’t let everyone enjoy the warmth of the fire. Here enters, the BioLite FirePit that promises to eliminate the problem using a fan and air jets, which help the fire burn more efficiently and remove smoke created by burning wood.

This brand new FirePit incorporates some of the latest design elements that are meant to improve the campfire experience like never before. Most of the smoke generated during bonfires is due to how inefficiently wood tends to burn. But this FirePit features a built-in fan that can push air through 51 individual jets, which provide more oxygen directly to the flames. This way wood burns more efficiently, hence, there is less smoke and a warmer fire.

The built-in fan powered by a rechargeable battery pack that features four settings. When you need the fire to feel a bit less hot, you can set the fan on low. But if you need more warmth during colder nights, you can change the setting to maximum to create more heat across a wider area. You can adjust the fan directly from the FirePit itself, or wirelessly using the free BioLite Energy app that connects to your smartphone via Bluetooth.

BioLite’s designers have made the body of the FirePit using ‘X-Ray Mesh,’ which is a lightweight metal. Unlike most fire pits made from the solid metal of bricks, this one allows everyone sitting around the campfire to enjoy a 360-degree view of the flames at all times. For easier transportation, the FirePit’s legs can be folded so that it easily fits into its carry bag. The bag cover comes with an integrated solar panel to keep the battery pack charged.

Currently, BioLite FirePit makers are hoping o raise $100,000 through its Kickstarter campaign. Early bird supporters can pre-order one at a discount for $199 or more. If successful, the company plans to begin shipping the FirePit in May 2018.
