According to the designer, the concept of the BBQ charcoal grill with a sliding lid was first created in 2010 at the Stuttgart State Academy of Art and Design (Staatliche Akademie für den Bildenden Kunst) in Stuttgart, Germany.

That conceptual design turned out to be quite practical and popural. After all, it provides control over the hot air circulation with the two-part sliding lid. This allows food to cook evenly over the grill on an open flame. And, the owner can grill over the open flame at a desired temperature.
