If you thought KFC didn’t offer much BBQ options, now you can try out their brand new item. KFC is soon coming up with its new Smoky Mountain BBQ friend chicken for barbecue lovers. This is a sweet and smoky snack that includes the delicious flavor of Memphis and Carolinas recipes. Moreover, it contains Southern-inspired flavors – tangy Georgia Gold honey mustard barbecue and spicy Nashville Fried Hot Chicken.

About this new snack, the fast food giant said, “KFC’s take on the Southern mainstay boasts a touch of vinegar to please North Carolinians, a little bit of sweetness for the Kansas City-style faithful and a crispiness that even Memphis dry rub fans will appreciate.”

You can enjoy Smoky Mountain BBQ fried chicken in nearby KFC chains at the end of this month. Recently, the team of Daily Meal got a chance to try out this new BBQ chicken before its release. According to them, it’s one tasty chicken that stays crisp because of its oil-based sauce. This sauce also adds an interesting flavor to the chicken along with slightly gritty but not unpleasant spices.

The team liked the flavor of chicken strips and through it’s quite similar to a mesquite barbecue potato chip. The editor reviewed, “I did find the grainy texture to be a little off-putting. I don’t love feeling the ‘raw’ spices in my sauce.” But overall it tastes good and might please the BBQ enthusiasts.

All you finger-lickin’ fans can enjoy this Smoky Mountain BBQ January 29 onward. We can’t wait to try this new item in KFC. In the pictures, it does look quite tempting and we hope it tastes equally delicious as well.
